Ashlee and Nathaniel | Bigstrup Farm

At the end of August this year, I had the absolute pleasure of being Ashlee and Nathaniel's celebrant at their beautiful, traditional wedding set against the stunning backdrop of Bigstrup Farm. Nestled in the picturesque Buckinghamshire countryside, Bigstrup Farm couldn’t be a more perfect wedding venue, with its rolling green fields, natural charm, and a lovely barn and courtyard that make for the perfect post-ceremony celebration spaces.

Getting there was an adventure in itself, thanks to unexpected road closures, but I’m happy to report that I made it well before Ashlee and the bridal party’s grand arrival! Thankfully I always leave lots of time for travel, so I even had a few extra minutes to catch up with Will, who runs the venue, and the wonderful wedding photographer, Cemanthe.

As the ceremony drew near, you could feel the excitement buzzing in the air. Ashlee looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the aisle to I Giorni, her dad proudly by her side - a beautiful, heartfelt touch that never fails to add that special something to a wedding.

One unforgettable moment had to be their adorable little boy, Andre, who made a very sweet ring bearer! It was clearly a big day for him, and he had to be woken up just before his moment in the spotlight! I love witnessing moments like these; they’re what make each ceremony so uniquely charming, especially when family members and friends are an active part of it.

In every traditional wedding, a bit of personalisation goes a long way in making the ceremony feel truly special. For months leading up to the big day, I worked closely with Ashlee and Nathaniel to craft a ceremony that was deeply personal and gave their guests a peek into their love story, along with their dreams for the future.

After the vows, the guests wandered over to the courtyard to enjoy drinks, canapés, and some truly fantastic live music. The tunes really took me back! There’s something magical about those familiar songs setting the tone as everyone relaxes and celebrates.

After the classic confetti shot, Ashlee and Nathaniel snuck away for a quick, champagne-filled ride in their gorgeous wedding car, soaking in some quiet, intimate moments together before re-joining everyone for, what I’ve heard, was a fabulous rest of the day.

From travel hiccups to the heart-warming ceremony moments, this wedding was a beautiful reminder of what it truly means to celebrate love. As a celebrant, these are the moments that fill me with joy and purpose - it’s what I live for!

Here’s to more weddings that are brimming with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories!
